Description

The Regional Councils of Southwest Ontario of The United Church of Canada and Five Oaks Centre are seeking an individual to fill the role of Minister, Social Justice/Partner Program Director on a full-time basis for a two-year term. This position reports to both the Regional Council Executive Minister and the Executive Director at Five Oaks Centre.

The Minister, Social Justice equips and connects individuals and communities of faith to put faith into action. They work with the Minister, Social Justice and Right Relations to support the comprehensive work of The United Church of Canada, creating a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and partnership, both within and across units and regions to live into the church’s commitment to be justice seeking, peace-making, inter-cultural, anti-racist and affirming.  The main areas of focus will be to:

• Encourage and equip communities of faith;
• Engage with existing social justice networks and foster the formation of new ones; and
• Work collaboratively with the Minister, Social Justice and Right Relations and the Minister, Faith Formation

The Partner Program Director will work with the program coordinator and leaders to curate and develop programs and initiatives for the diverse communities which Five Oaks serves and seeks to serve. These include the Indigenous community (primarily at Six Nations) and the Muslim community (primarily in Brantford and the GTA). The main areas of focus will be to:

• Animate Interfaith/Intercultural Programs and Partnerships;
• Facilitate Retreat Opportunities; and
• Administrate Program Work
